EASIEST PAN FRIED CHICKEN DRUMSTICK

This is incredibly easy to do everyday recipe. No marination, perfect as a potluck recipe with such a few ingredients. This taste amazing and can be eaten as itself or could be paired with other recipes too. All you need is a good nonstick pan to make the cooking easy. Here i used only two drumstick, so you can increase the spice level as per the drumstick count. These fried drums are one healthy option as you need only 1 tablespoon of oil compared to the deep fried chicken. They have a great texture outside and juicy inside.

 Chicken drumstick - 2 nos
oil/butter- 1 tablespoon
ginger garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
green chili or jalepeneos (optional) - 2
red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
salt to taste

COOKING TIME: 20 MINS

Heat the oil in a pan. Cook in a medium flame. Add the ginger garlic paste, green chilli, red chili powder fry for a minute. Now add the drumstick mix well with the spices, add the needed salt about half a spoon, cook for 5 mins. Now add about 40 ml of water and allow the drumstick to cook for 15 mins mixing occasionally. As when the chicken cooks the water evaporates, oozing some oil. This is the stage to add the garam masala, mix well and pan fry on medium low flame until you get that roasted texture. You need to saute very well because there is a chance for the chicken to stick in the pan, thats why make use of a good nonstick pan where you will need less oil still you get that fried texture. Switch off the stove and garnish with cilantro or parsley. Serve hot and you could also freeze the leftover.

TIPS
  • Green chilis are optional but if you need that extra kick then sure you can go for it.
  • When buying for red chili powder, purchase the one that is mild to moderate red chili powder, do not go for the hot chili powder.
