CREAMY GREEN SOUP HEALTHY RECIPE

This is an excellent recipe for kids to make them enjoy eating spinach, just like popeye. My toddler likes this recipe as it is creamy and tasty. Not to mention an healthy perfect recipe postworkout for those flat abs.

INGREDIENTS

  • Spinach- 1 cup
  • Lentil - half cup ( Here i have taken toor dhal, you can also use any lentils of your choice)
  • Garlic- 1pod
  • oil/ butter- 1tablespoon.
  • Salt per taste
  • Pepper or chill flakes( for adults)

METHOD


SAUTEED SPINACH
COOKED AND MASHED LENTILS
ADD THE BLENDED SPINACH TO THE LENTILS

  1. Cook the lentils in a pot or pressure cooker until it turns soft, almost mushy or use a spatula to mash it and bring to that of a creamy consistency with some texture
  2. In a pan pour oil or butter, add one chopped garlic and then add the chopped spinach and sautée them for few seconds until they leave out the water.
  3. now grind the sautéed spinach in a blender and add to the mashed lentils
  4. Allow the soup to boil for 2 minutes. Adjust the salt. 
  5. Garnish with cilantro or fried onions.
  6. Serve it with the bread of your choice.
NOTE: If you boil for long time, you might lose the bright green color of the spinach. For adults you can add pepper flakes or crushed pepper while it cooks.
