QUICK AND EASY SHRIMP/PRAWN CHUKKA (FRY)

Yum

Simple and quick shrimp chukka (fry) can be prepared in no time with just few ingredients, yet it tastes so delicious. Here i used wild caught raw, deveined shrimp with peel on. I like wild caught than farm raised, they are better in taste and flavor. This can be a great appetizer or side dish for this fall season. Lets begin to cook

Shrimp/prawn - 1/2 pound
ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
green chili - 1
cumin powder - half teaspoon
pepper powder - half teaspoon
cumin seeds - half teaspoon
onion - 1 sliced
oil - 1 tablespoon

PREP TIME : 5 MINS              COOK TIME : 15 MINS

oil, onion, ginger garlic paste added
sautéed  onions and ginger garlic paste, green chili
shrimp/prawn added
cumin and pepper added
ready to serve
Heat a pan with oil, once hot, add the cumin seeds, wait until it turns brown, now add the ginger garlic paste fry for a minute and then add the sliced onions and one green chili, saute for a minute, do not wait for the onions to brown, just saute to combine with the oil, Now add the shrimp with the peel on, as the peel gives distinct flavor, combine well with the onions. Add the cumin and pepper powder to the shrimp. Make sure you coarsely grind the cumin and pepper. Saute well for 10 to 15 mins until shrimp is cooked well. Do not overcook the shrimp as it can be little chewy and rubbery. Finally garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. This recipe is so good that you wont beleive just two spices gives great flavor to the shrimp. Try it and post your comments and feedback.
As always happy cooking!
