Begin by chopping the beef heart into cubes as shown in the picture. Season with salt, turmeric and keep them aside. Turmeric is considered to have antibacterial properties, so it is always better to add turmeric to any non vegetarian recipes. Heat the pan with oil, add the ginger garlic paste and fry them for one minute. Add the red chili powder to the oil, fry for few seconds. Now add the seasoned beef heart into the oil saute for about 2 mins. Add about 2 tablespoon of water, cover the pan with lid and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes, you will notice as the beef heart cooks the water evaporates oozing out oil, add the pepper powder, adjust the salt if needed. Now stir the heart well for 5 more mins until the water is completely evaporated, leaving them fried just like the oven roasted hearts. Do not cook them more than 15 minutes, they might turn rubbery or more chewy texture. These beef hearts gives great texture and flavor, it doesn't taste like beef liver.
