Bombay Sandwich Chutney recipe| Green chutney dip

Yum

This is a multipurpose chutney can be used in making the chutney sandwiches or as a dip in other recipes.
There are many varieties of ready made chutneys available in the market, but making at home tastes fresh and best,of course preservative free.

You could also add some garlic about 3 cloves when preparing this chutney, this is optional as some may not like the raw garlic taste.
Another way to spice up the chutney is by adding some chaat masala, again its optional. I like mine this way.

The shelf life is about a month when refrigerated,  or if you have an option to freeze you can freeze for up to 6 months, by pouring the chutney in a ice cube tray and then remove the chutney cubes and put them in a air tight zip lock, in this way it stays for months, whenever you want them, just place one chutney cube in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, super easy is it?.

I will also post some of my favorite chutney sandwiches which tastes great found in the streets of india and also healthy. If you haven't checked my other super quick delicious sandwiches cream cheese cucumber sandwich ,capsicum sandwiches.

For the chutney you will need
mint leaves (just leaves no stem) - 1 cup
coriander leaves (without stem) - 1 cup
peanuts/groundnuts - 2 tablespoons
green chili's - 2
lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
water - 2 tablespoons
salt 1/4 teaspoon

Grind them all in a mixer or blender until little smooth of a chutney consistency, this chutney makes about 4 to 5 sandwiches. Store them in a air tight glass container by pouring little oil on top, which preserves the chutney.
This chutney can also be used as a dip for Tandoori Chicken or any kebabs.
