BROCCOLI RABE SAUTEED/STIR FRY

If you have made my potatoes and french beans stir fry you would absolutely love this simple and healthy recipe. Broccoli rabe is an healthy green but it can have a little bitterness to it which is why I like them, they make an excellent side dish for this holidays with some meats or anything you prefer. It can also be added to any pasta recipe. Here is one simple and quick version. Blanching is not required as I am gonna cook with garlic. I tried blanching, however it didn't make any difference so why waste time. I personally like the stem it is crunchy, if you do not prefer the stem just use the leaves and chop them as shown in the video https://youtu.be/a3WAR3vtkzA
I have added the sunflower seeds for some crunch and nuttiness, you can also substitute for pine nuts or peanuts.

Broccoli rabe - half bunch
garlic : 3 cloves finely chopped
onion - 1/2 finely chopped
red chili flakes ( optional) - 1/4 teaspoon
sunflower seeds - 1 teaspoon
oil/olive oil - 2 tablespoon
In a pot, pour oil, once hot add the onion, garlic and red chilli flakes, just saute for few seconds, as we do not want them to burn. To this add the broccoli rabe, mix it add required salt close lid and cook for 5 to 7 mins until softens stirring in between do they dont burn, keeping the flame on medium. Do not add any water as the rabe itself oozes water while coking. Thats it finally add some roasted sunflower seeds and serve hot.
