Cookies using leftover frosting.
Yum
who doesnt love cakes and cookies!. Imagine if they both combine in a recipe. These are incredible that you just cant stop by having just one. I had the leftover butter and cream cheese frosting that i made for cake, the frosting has been refridgerated for two days, so i decided to make use of this in my recipe and make them into another irressible desert for my kids. I used whole wheat flour along with plain flour to make it little healthly. This is easy and quick, here is what you will need.
butter cream cheese frosting - 1 cup
Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
plain flour - 1 cup
baking powder - 1 teaspoon
egg - 1
PREP TIME : 15 mins BAKE TIME : 10 to 15 mins at 350F
In a mixing bowl, add the flour and baking powder combine nicely, to this add the frosting, make sure the frosting is at room temperature. The frosting already has the needed fat and sugar, im not adding any more of it. Crack open one egg to this, make a dough. If you dont want to use an egg, then pour about two tablespoon of milk instead. The mixture might be little crumbly in the beginning but as you work it eventually form a dough, do not knead, just try to put them together, refridgerate for about 30 mins to set. Now this is the fun part involve your kids in this, roll them and make shapes using a cookie cutter. I made my kids to this, they loved cutting cookies using their cookie cutter. Thats it ! pop them to a preheated oven at 350F for 10 to 15mins. When you find the corner of the cookies turns brown remove them and place them in a cooling rack. They might be soft when hot, as it cools down completely will turn crispy. If you have more time you can frost these cookies and can be turned as a gift for your loved ones, they are crispy, buttery and delicious. My kids had great time, they loved these cookies, better than store bought variety, chemical free.
